Who knew that a simple letter could change one's whole life? This book is a fun adventure that starts from a man's simple fascination with penguins to a consuming petastic voyage. I really enjoy the way older books read when discussing fantastical things as if they are perfectly acceptable. Like "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" and the "Wizard of Oz", this is a classic that isn't done a lot of justice in the films and a must read for children.

Busy housepainter Mr. Popper gets a flipper of a surprise when an admiral sends him a small penguin that becomes a part of his family. His one penguin will quickly become a big family of penguins that will be the answer to their financial troubles.

It’s just a charming animal attraction that’s about family and many adventures follow our Poppers and their penguins. Phenomenal pages of penguin pleasantness for animal fans. A- (91%/Excellent)

Cute and funny story about I’m living with penguins. It had me chuckling out loud several times. Some very dated and sexist references but if you can ignore those you’ll have a bit of a laugh

My 3 year old’s first chapter book 😭 It was so much fun to read this with him, especially since it was a favorite of mine growing up. We enjoyed acting out the silly parts and telling Daddy all about it. Seeing it through my boy’s eyes was such a treat. Now to watch the movie! 🐧
