3.5 ⭐️ ~ was challenging and insightful. I really enjoyed going through this poem. I needed breaks and had to further educate myself throughout the book, but I can see myself coming back to it again in the future. I can see the influence it has had on today’s media. (Personally was interested to read it as it inspired a raid series in a video game I love!)

Wow. Just, wow. Allen Mandelbaum, the verse translator, deserves commendation too. Read kind of like Homer, but more succinct and therefore less boring.

Despite the tags making it abundantly clear, i was not prepared for it to be poetry.
I did really enjoy the added context in the introduction, unfortunately didnt get far after that

basically hate-fanfiction where Dante puts everyone he dislikes into hell.
