This is the first time I’ve felt this level of frustration with a book, to the point where I just couldn’t keep pushing through.
And I’m genuinely confused… How did this get a 4-star rating on Goodreads? How are people reading this and seeing something entirely different?
The male main character? Rude. Bossy. Overbearing. Annoying. Zero charm. His behavior grated on my nerves every single chapter.
The female main character? I don’t even want to say this, but… she feels so frustratingly naive. And that’s what confuses me the most — on paper, she’s this accomplished, capable woman with impressive credentials… yet her actions in this book? Completely contradict that. It makes no sense. It’s like her character development and her résumé belong to two different people.
I tried to give them both a chance. But when you dislike literally everyone on the page, it sucks the fun out of reading. So yeah… DNF it is (40%)

First of all - I want to go back to my past self a few days ago and shake myself for having not yet read a Meghan Quinn book. Shoot, I want to do it now having read it. I can't believe it has taken me this long to read her books.
Having said all of that... this book was perfect. Utterly perfect.
I absolutely loved every single one of the characters.
Lottie was sweet, smart, and full of feistiness. I loved her.
Huxley. Fearless, cocky, domineering, but equipped with a playful side, my dream man. *Drool*
Huxley's brothers JP and Breaker were a hoot and I can't wait for their stories as well. *crosses my fingers*
Lottie's sister was hilarious and although I think she'd be more on her sister's side, it made me laugh that she loved her future brother-in-law already.
There were so many funny moments in this book without making it forced or unfunny. I loved the sarcasm probably because that's my type of comedy.
Romance and sexiness, yes, please. This book offers a lot of sexual tension, but when they come together.... oh boy. Their love is off the charts.

Very fun and it felt like a quick read but not rushed. Enjoyed the back and forth and banter.
