Katherine of Aragon, the True Queen By Alison Weir. I loved the behind scenes look into how Katherine was feeling & her thought process behind her choices. I at one point found myself on the side of Henry who thought she should just give the crown up. She never backed down from being the true Queen of England.

I got this book at the Windsor Castle bookshop 2 years ago and I’m upset it took me this long to read! Pretty long, but makes sense as Katherine was the longest of Henry’s wives by hundreds of miles. Alison Weir’s research and writing style is impeccable, I practically felt like I was in Tudor England while reading. I look forward to picking up the next book in this series!

I think the Tudors are overdone, but Alison Weir has a fresh approach that is entertaining, informative and compulsively readable. Also, yuck, why did the end make me so emotional? It felt a little bit cheesy, but still made me sad, and kind of perfectly captured Katherine of Aragon's worldview.
