I never really cared that much about Katherine of Aragon, I suspect because growing up Anne Boleyn was always so much more interesting to me and KoA was an obstacle but this book really made me connect with her and care about her role in history. I can’t wait to read more of this series!!
Whew! Finally finished this book. It was good, but about 200 pages too long. Although it took seven years to dissolve the marriage between Katherine and Henry, I didn't think we'd have to read about it for seven years.
This book really helped shape my opinion of Katherine. The subject of her marriage with Arthur has always been up for speculation, and I found myself falling into the same pattern of beliefs about the sequence of events. Disbelief, incredulity, a cheerleader, aghast, and finally, pity. Though pity outweighed all feelings after awhile. I realize the 16th Century was vastly different, but if after 7 years you think your husband will come back to you, you're delusional.
Anne Boleyn is a minor character in this otherwise great novel. Well worth the read for Katherine of Aragon, the true queen, to stand on her own accord.

This book was an amazing insight into the life of Katherine of Aragon. It felt like I was living her life right beside her, and this book gave me an even deeper understanding of her trials and triumphs. It was also interesting to see how she viewed Anne Boleyn.
