I love Mercedes Lackey. I love fairy tale retellings. So why did I leave it so late to read the amazing elemental masters series?? This book is amazing, the writing is phenomenal, it's captivating. Mercedes Lackey has done fairy-tale retellings before, and whilst really good they never beat out the Valdemar series. This book is on the podium for favourite book of all time. It's amazing. And hey I learnt some history as well. I fell in love with Rosalind and I fell in love with the world of magic and elementals, something quite different from that of Valdemar. I don't want to ramble but seriously just go read this book. You'll love it. I for one could not put this down.
