This book is a true enemies to lovers. The slow burn is truly slow. The individual voices of each character is distinct and not homogenous. I would wish there were more atmosphere described in the world. Not enough descriptors outside of the superficial. Love the humor of this book. It’s what made this story stand out to me and kept me deeply invested.

are so complex yet likable. The author manages to really make the reader become invested in each character.
Liam is the World Ender and our love interest. He's the definition of a grump. However getting to know his highs and lows is such a moving experience. You'll immediately fall in love with him. He's a total romantic and is so open about his feelings. He is this stoic traumatised hero. The two MCs could not be any more different personality-wise, but they both are broken in their own way. When we are first introduced to him, we see that he is in a very dark mental state. Throughout the book we are able to see Dianna break down his walls and begin to help him heal which I LOVE!
And then Dianna our FMC is a badass warrior. What I enjoyed the most was that she was not written to be likeable. She had an overwhelming amount of snarkyness. And I loved it! She remains unapologetically herself throughout the book and doesn't alter or change herself for the love interest. And then as the story progresses she only gets better and better. She is cruel, sassy, strong, completely selfless and the most perfect morally grey FMC I have ever encountered, but she hides behind a facade of sarcasm and snark. She is the a feared creature and a dangerous weapon — she is made for chaos and destruction, but she has a single soft spot for her sister Gabby. She would go to any lengths to protect her sister and would do absolutely ANYTHING for her, including giving up her mortal life to an evil king (Kaden) just to save her sisters life thousands of years ago. Her character development was so raw and real, it truly brought her character to life.
Kaden is our villian and somehow even though he is the villian I really liked him- he has a certain appeal about himself that attracts the reader and makes you want to know more about him.
This book has it all:
>True Enemies to lovers
>Slow burn
>FMC as a villian
>Epic world building
>Only one bed
>Forced proximity
>Forbidden romance
>Action sequences that leave you wanting for more
>Cliffhanger
The transition to enemies to lovers is done so well, I just adored it. The two have such great chemistry together it's hard not to root for them! The world building became very complex and was insane in it's descriptions and the author manages to fully immerse you into her world and leaves you wanting more. I really enjoyed the world building and was able to picture these amazing descriptions. I was also intrigued by the power system possessed by the gods and monsters. I found this to be quite a unique power system employed by a book but I really enjoyed it. This book also had the perfect balance of modern and ancient societal aspects. Which makes sense with how different worlds join.
If you enjoy epic world building, slow burn, enemies to lovers books definitely DEFINITELY give this book a go! I really don't think you would regret it! Now onto book 2 I go!
