This book was truly a breath of fresh air after so many disappointing “fantasy” reads as of late. To say I was invested, intrigued, and wonderfully surprised at how this story unfolded only begins to describe my experience while reading it!

Liam/Samkiel and Dianna are written very well; both have engaging backstories and inner conflict that make for a gripping story with tons of opportunity for further development. Admittedly, while some of the dialogue and inner thoughts from both characters were bordering on what I would call “romantasy cringe”, it was not too much or enough to really take away from the story.

For readers who want a delicious slow burn, conflict that has been building for thousands of years, and a beautiful blend of both modern and ancient settings… this book is for you! Well done to the author and all associated with bringing this book to life; I look forward to reading the next one!

If I was ever going to not finish reading a book it would be this one... I can’t even explain why I disliked it so much but I also can’t explain a single thing I liked about it lol

Oh My Gosh!!!!

Yo. This book was so good. I’m kind of at a loss for word! all I can say is that I love the fact that it’s the woman who is the morally gray one, she’s also got a golden retriever kind of character kind of loopy, and funny, Dianna was, I mean a chefs kiss, kind of character. This enemies to lovers, slow burn of a book is so well done.
I’m not gonna leave any spoilers, everyone needs to experience this the way that I did . I went into this book blind with only a recommendation and a very glad that I did.

Dianna and Liam are just such complex characters. I love that a God King character was created in such a way that he’s so human. I mean there’s mental health representation, LGBTQIA+ representation, there is angst and pinning, the way that this character describes the FMC at about 80% of the book is worth reading the entire book.

One last thing that I must say is that the world building is really interesting I hope that the subsequent books will do more of that. This is a 10/10 book, run don’t walk!
