I loved TBoA. I honestly loved everything about it. The characters, the romance, the grit! I am going to try to start book 2 tonight!

"I didn’t remember how long we talked, but somewhere amidst her laughter and smiles, I decided I would rip the world apart for her."
4.5/5⭐
Okay...sigh, another day, another book, another heartbreak. It took me sometime to get into this book, coz, well, it's longggg. I started getting into it around the 40% mark. And then, well, I got into it. Needless to say, this book is a stunning piece of work and now I'm obsessively searching for any and all Samkiel fanart.

I really struggled at the beginning of this book. It took around a hundred pages for the story to finally pick up and become interesting. The beginning of the book was very info dumpy and I struggled a lot with the terminology of the universe.
But once the main characters actually met, the pacing was also better and I was definitely intrigued.
So overall a pretty good first book and I hope the second one only gets even better.

The Book of Azrael was my first e-book and I absolutely could not put it down. Amber V. Nicole has blown my mind with Dianna. Dianna is one of the best written FMC I've read in absolutely ages. She reminds me of Celaena from Throne of Glass in the best ways; powerful, determined and strong.
This is the only series where I've actually enjoyed the enemies-to-lovers trope - Dianna and Liam's relationship is pure magic and the push and pull of emotions makes my heart sing.
The plot was there as well - well thought-out, executed and made me excited to continue reading. Worldbuilding was on point, along with the development of characters and the plot throughout.
The twists and the C L I F F H A N G E R ending absolutely destroyed me.

4.5 for me and that half star is purely as I felt it dragged slightly at some points.
But the rest…wow. This was a real slow burn/enemies to lovers and the world/magic system was incredible to read about.
Gave me big Underworld/Crescent City kind of vibes (just vibes, story not so much).
I absolutely loved how feisty Dianna was and I am really interested to read more about the “monster” she is.
Liam…ugh. Just another book boyfriend to add to the list. I loved how he became more vulnerable and open as the story went on.
The action scenes were so much fun to read.
The ending was not a huge shock, but has set up perfectly for the next book. I am really excited to see how far Dianna will go.
