DID NOT FINISH: 53%

This is the most boring book I've ever tried to read. I didn't care one once for Marjorie Post. There was no connections made with any of the characters for me. Just boring.

This author’s voice does not work for me. I found this great documentary (https://youtu.be/l_Rxgq75sQY?si=I57BpVJ7TBGDvfyP) about The Glamorous Life of Marjorie Post and find it much more engaging.

What a life!! Majorie Post lived a thousand lives and you may retitle this book as the 4 husbands of Marjorie post lol.

I would have loved a little more business focus but I appreciated the insight into the building of an empire and how she fought to acquire  birdseye frozen foods and then jello, Maxwell coffee etc only to become General foods.  She really understood the importance of healthy and convenient foods. Probably why it succeeded even during downturns like the crash and Great Depression.

Lots of political name dropping.  Her time in Russia was particularly fascinating.

Her real estate holdings - Mar-a-lago and yachts and jets.  Nothing but the best.  Then giving over all these properties to the government.

However she gave certainly gave back.  Gave her yacht during the war, opened canteens to feed, donated money for hospitals - Red Cross.  She seems like a very likable person.  She adapted well to her changing surroundings, environment- with how she dealt with the business and also her husbands endeavors.  She was the hostess with the mostest.

A boss lady behind the scenes.  Very inspiring.  A business woman, a socialite and a philanthropist.
