Logician: “A cat has four paws.”
Old Gentleman: “My dog has got four paws.”
Logician: “Then it’s a cat.”
Logician: “Another syllogism. All cats die. Socrates is dead. Therefore Socrates is a cat.”

Read this after reading L'étranger by Camus, I really enjoyed this, once again being able to relay what I read with current questions/worries about life/the world. Educational and probably one of the only plays I would read without obligation from school or so.

For fans of Kafka, The Stand, or any sort of other plague/virus/unbeknownst thing that’s taking over the world, this is the perfect pandemic read. Filled with absurdism and riotous imagery, Rhinoceros is a glimpse at keeping up with the Joneses, and trying not to let yourself get carried away with your virtues and vices…
Overall, I found this to be entertaining–though I did have to use SparkNotes to help me out…reading an absurdist play in another language is quite daunting! Yet it tested me, made me laugh out loud, and certainly put things into perspective.

Absurdity at its best!!!
"Rhinoceros" by Eugene Ionesco is a real classic. Don't you find the characters in this play intriguing? Berenger's transition in the face of the absurdity of everyone around him turning into rhinoceroses is a compelling examination of conformity and uniqueness. It's an absurdist investigation of human nature and cultural standards, and Ionesco's portrayal of the characters emphasises the inherent ridiculousness of the human experience. The way he combines surrealism and situational humour is simply mesmerising. It's a thought-provoking piece that will be with you long after you finish reading it.
