I read this in a day, so it's definitely gripping!

I will say, it's a very teenager-y drama-filled mystery. Not surprising, since it's YA, but these characters' drama is so very high school. 

There's a very serious subject touched on in this book, and I think it was handled pretty well. It's also approached from a different angle than it usually is. Spoilers here:

Jake is drugged with rohypnol and ecstasy, which gives Tegan the opportunity to r*pe Jake while he's under the influence of these drugs.
