I'm giving this a solid 3 stars, it was an average read but I did have lots of fun with it.
I couldn't help getting flashbacks of Inuyasha while reading this which was kinda fun if the author did indeed take inspiration from the anime.
I feel like Emi didn't really have a strong motivation, and some of her internal points were very repetitive. The characters didn't really have strong personalities, but the story itself was a fun journey. I'll totally be continuing on the series.

The writing is so detailed and well thought out. Not only did I love this particular plot, I've become a fan of Annette Marie. Quickly read the sequels and now am grinning in bliss. Just amazing overall

this was the type of book that as soon as I read it I had to read the next one. The characters were wonderful and watching them start to change and grow and learn more of the world beyond what they know was amazing. the mythology was fantastic. the world building immersive. Another winner by Annette marine.
