Finally a villain! I loved this book, as I have with every other book in this series so far. Sabine was a badass and I like that she wasn’t fully turned good by the end, keeps things interesting.

I am very much looking forward to seeing what happens with Lothaire and their kingdom as it grows!

These books just keep getting better and better. Rydstrom and Sabine are so great together. I loved seeing them come to trust each other, despite everything. Finally, after seven books, rydstrom has his kingdom back, and omort is dead.. yay!

This is a good book. It would be a better book, if I didn't already know where they are eventually going to be, due to the previous book. Because I already know this, I am a little frustrated trying to get to that point. And I'm almost at page 300. So because of Ms. Cole's unfortunate tendency to overlap books, this story drags a little and thus is not as good as it could have been.

So once I finally passed that point, the book did get REALLY good. Loved the last 100 pages the best.
adventurous dark fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Character
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Complicated
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

I love these two together. This is true enemies to lovers and it’s deliciously hot. Both Sabine and Rydstrom are morally gray with long pasts filled with whatever the opposite of sunshine and rainbows is and they’ve both got this BDE that clashes with each others as much as it ignites them together.

This is also the book that left me asking is Rök getting his own book? (It’s The Witch Queen of Halloween releasing March ‘24)

Narration: Robert Pekoff is fantastic as always. This one is especially entertaining since he’s playing Sabine who is a fantastic storyteller in her own right.

So...while I liked the leads as individuals, there relationship felt very toxic and manipulative to me. My second least favorite of the series.

The Woede brothers are my favorite in the IAD universe. After I read Cadeon's story, I thought Kresley Cole would not be able to top that, but I was soooo wrong. Kiss of a Demon King has the right mix of angst, love-hate factor, and amazingly hot chemistry. I am so happy that Cole decided to pair Rydstrom with one of the evilest (not really) sorceress in the kingdom.

Rydstrom was just a bit too obsessed about the fate of his kingdom that he needed someone like Sabine to shake things up a bit. The best part of the book was the ending and the choice he makes for Sabine. It all works out well, but that decision of his shows how much he comes to love Sabine.

This book is tagged for a re-read :) I just can't get enough of Rydstrom and Sabine :)

Kiss of a Demon King is the story of Rydstrom Woede, the deposed King of the Rage Demons. I did not expect to like this installment...at all. Rydstrom is...kingly, he is responsible, reasonable, upstanding, honorable, patient, wise and self-sacrificing. He yearns for a "decent, virtuous" demoness as his mate. In short...he sounded like an uptight, lackluster bore and it seemed highly likely that his story would have been a real snoozer. I should have paid attention when he asked Nucking Futz Nix what his future entailed and she responded that it would be " a real doozey"!

KOTDK turned out to be one of my favorite IAD stories. Good King Rydstrom does not get his "decent, virtuous demoness". Instead the Fates choose for his mate Sabine the evil sorceress and Queen of Illusions. Sabine is Awesome! Initially Rydstrom says she brings out the worst in him. What she really does is upset his apple cart and it's pretty funny to see the ever reserved Rydstrom completely losing it.

For Sabine's part - she is not actually evil. Yes, she does lie, cheat and steal - but she's a product of her environment. Where she comes from - that's called survival; and Sabine is nothing if not a survivor. I thought she had an irreverent sense of humor and I enjoyed her affection for Puck, all the while referring to him as an "it".

As usual Nix's cameo appearances stole the show and the pool party was a laugh out loud moment. KOTDK turned out to a very pleasant surprise!

Sabine'i de Rydstrom'u da çok sevdim, ama Lanthe'nin hikayesini aşırı merak ettim şimdi, acamba yazmış mıdır onu da ???

Still love these books... this one felt a bit boring.... it just kept repeating itself Rydstrom and Sabine, tied up, untied, games lies oaths......

The last few chapters picked up a bit... but the majority of this book was just these two waytchhing them like groundhog day.

The Demon King finally finds his mate, and she is not what he expected. Though these two have a very complicated relationship they do eventually work it out. Rydstrom also finds out some very important facts that help him reconcile his feelings about Caedeon. This series keeps you coming back for more.
