Kresley Cole is one of the most imaginative writers in the biz. No one is writing PNR this creative, this original, or this fun.
Kiss of A Demon King is a love story so full of twists and turns, you won't know which way is up. Never predictable, and full of humor and heart. This is an awesome series.
I won't bother to recap the story; you can get that from other reviews. But I will say that if you, like me, have been waiting for that heartwarming scene of brotherly love between Cade and Rydstrom, you won't be disappointed. That was a highlight for me.
And the romance was good too. :) It was surprising how convincing Cole was able to make it, considering that this heroine was no shrinking violet, nor was she a warrior of valor. She was truly nasty and selfish.
The first words of the book set the scene perfectly. (And really, how could you not love a book that starts this way?)
"With me, nothing is as it seems. It's usually much, much worse. And then - What do you mean I only get one epigraph? I get as many as I please. Only pre-eviscerated people have ever said things like that to me."
-Sabine of the Sorceri, Queen of Illusions, anointed princess of Rothkalina
"That sorceress might be an evil bitch, but she's my evil bitch. And I'll have no other."
-Rydstrom Woede, fallen demon king of Rothkalina
Oh, and this is by far the best cover of the series...

This is the book I didn’t read. Now everything after will be brand new.

While this one had some…toxic themes I still enjoyed it. Sabine was definitely the highlight. Witty bitchy women for the win.
