I’ve never really been into reading memoirs but this one was so so good. It really helped me view love in a new and different way, and made me transform the way i approach relationships. It made me appreciate and cherish female friendships even more and recognize the bad and toxic ones. Dolly alderton is like the big sister i’ve never had and as an only child i find such comfort in her memoir and works.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Dolly herself while moving interstate and it made the journey fly by. During the journey I felt like I was chatting with a friend about their life. It is a coming of age story about a Dolly's late 20s and quite a lot of it resonated with me. I find it fascinating to learn about the inner worlds of others and even when parts of the book didn't resonate with me personally, I still found it intriguing to step into the life of Dolly for a while. Sure, there were times when I felt frustrated when she wasn't happy for her friends finding love but overall it was funny, heart-warming and light-hearted read. (And I would love to attend one of Dolly's dinner parties.)
