I can't even tell you how long I've been waiting for Jean's book and how many times his story made me cry. I had to stop reading a few times and nearly cried in the middle of a public library, but it was so worth it. Jean's backstory is heartbreaking and I can't wait to see his journey.
The Trojans are amazing and I loved seeing the Foxes through Jean's eyes. I do wish he and Kevin would go on a fucking scorched earth campaign against Riko and the Ravens, and this book only made me want that more. But I'm curious to see how Nora will handle that with the Ichirou deal, so I'm keeping an open mind. Also, really getting to see the aftermath of the breakdown of a cult and the loss of their enigmatic leader was so interesting and Nora wrote it so well.
(I know that the end goal of Jean's story is not romance, but I'm still over here in my little corner rooting for JereJeanRenee in the end)
Edit: Reread ALREADY and highlighted all my favourite insults and also every time Neil was even mentioned lol.

“I believe we all have the choice to be better than the hands that shaped us.”
[b:The Sunshine Court|201914164|The Sunshine Court (All For the Game, #4)|Nora Sakavic|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1712958613l/201914164._SY75_.jpg|207000186] is an incredible start to Jean and Jeremy's story. It is at once gritty and sharp and heartbreaking, but also hopeful and beautiful and so very warm. This book shifts from the original trilogy's one-man POV (Neil) to shifting perspectives between Jean and Jeremy, and it works to the book's advantage. It draws the audience in and won't let go: Jean's disastrous mental health and the past that shaped it a stark contrast to the overwhelming, unshakable support and love and protection of Cat and Laila and Jeremy. Without a doubt, one of my top reads of the year.
I can't wait for the audiobook release; I'm hoping Alexander Cendese will narrate again!
UPDATE 4/12/2025: The audiobook is incredible, as I expected! Alexander adds so much with his performance, I highly recommend giving it a listen!
