it’s not you, it’s me

but actually, i really liked chunks of this (especially towards the end) and i do think it’s well done in what it sets out to do. i just don’t necessarily know if it was for me! the last 25 pages are incredibly gorgeous.

“What is the meaning of life? That was all- a simple question; one that tended to close in on one with years, the great revelation had never come. The great revelation perhaps never did come. Instead, there were little daily miracles, illuminations, matches struck unexpectedly in the dark; here was one.”

This was quite an introspective listen, it covered a lot of topics such as war, grief, love and loss... all surrounding a lighthouse. The slow pace of this book did make me zone out at times, which is not what you want while listening to an audiobook. That being said, Virginia Woolf was ahead of her time, and this is also the last book that I will listen to/read from her.
