I went down an Astrid Lindgren rabbit hole re-reading the Pippi Longstocking books, so I thought I'd check out this lesser known title by the same author. It's definitely a slow read, but you can appreciate the same quirky adventuresome spirit that made the Pippi books such an enduring hit. Curious to read more about the author as Lindgren's love of the sea life is all the more apparent in this book.

So so super good but definitely skip the chapter in which Bosun is accused of sheep biting. It all turns out fine but is a significant bummer. But really so so super good.

I wanted to pick it up because I heard there will be a new TV series (don't know if it's out yet) kinda based on "Vi på Saltkråkan". Same characters but modern setting. I already don't like it but I might change my mind after watching it. Anywho I don't think I've read the book even as I child but I grew up with the movies and absolutely adored it. So did my mom as I think she had grown up with the story as well. It's sweet and cozy and is a very magical story even though containing no magic. The summer vibes is just so strong and lovely. An obviously 5 stars from me!

I never would have thought that I would enjoy this book THIS much!

I actually got this book from a friend as a birthday gift. And I'm glad I did, because this book was super fun AND summery!
I totally fell in love with these characters and this little island.

So overall a fun, summery read, nothing too special. But I still really enjoyed it!
