I think this is one of the best Islamic picture books that I've read and I love the art work. It's informative without being preachy. I also think that it works as a bridge to a wider audience for those who are curious about Islam or other cultures in general. Well done!

Amina's Voice was my first experience reading Hena Khan, and after falling in love with it I knew I'd want to read more from her. I am so glad that I did!

Golden Domes and Silver Lanterns is filled with some lovely simple rhymes that make for easy reading, really great colour imagery, great representation for Muslim kids, and a beautiful introduction to the culture for non-Muslim kids. The illustrations are especially beautiful as well, and I look forward to seeing more from the illustrator.

This picture book is one I won't hesitate to recommend.

I love children's books that introduce kids to different cultures, but I think this one--while beautiful--missed the mark a little bit. While I understand there's a word limit in picture books, I think some of the definitions should have been worked into the story itself, instead of treated as an aside.

Love the richness and colors in the illustrations, great way to look at the religious focus with how is is manifested in colors.

Beautiful illustrations. Lovely introduction to the Muslim faith. Helpful to spur conversations with children about religions and people similar and different from ourselves. As I try to simplify religion, faith, ceremonies, traditions to try and explain the differences of people around the world, it makes me realize how similar we all are. I hope my kids are getting that message too.

This is a beautifully illustrated book that not only talks about colors but is a great discussion of the Islamic faith for young readers. The text is rhyming and each line is short and simple enough for young readers. The illustrations and rich and colorful and beautifully done. Each page is gorgeous.

My only complaint is the text in the glossary at the end made it hard to read since the text was fuzzy.

Other than that, I really enjoyed it and think it's a great book for readers of all ages and a great addition to any library collection.
