Wonderful book, far surpasses the wonderful movie.

i did not love the movie - but WOW loved the book. it adds so much richness because you can truly understand the characters inner thoughts and motivations (ALL characters across the caporegimes and who encounter them, not just michael or vito) - i think if i were to watch the movie again, i’d enjoy it so much more. it is such a faithful adaptation, save the inner dialogue happening, and really cuts the unnecessary bloat from the book (like the chapters with lucy mancini). the prose itself is also not excellent but the story being told and the way it’s told (like switching perspectives to reveal info) are so good
