Omg...not my thing, at least not until the last 100 pages or so. And it's a trilogy?? It was sooo slow (for me) and convoluted (then again, stories about time travel always are). I need a cliffsnotes version of the next 2 books.

Spoiler
All you need to know about this book is that some magical feature of time travel allows the 20-year-old male main character to become romantically involved with the 10-year-old female main character the same day he meets her because the time travel portals somehow age her 10 years in a few hours while he doesn’t age a day! Convenient! ✨ Also the same male main character had sex with someone several times before starting to refer to her as his sister, and his romantic interest turns out to be the woman who raised him?????? What in the actual fuck. I was so excited for some book-about-books magical library stuff and this is not that. I almost DNF-ed so many times, including when the raven turned out to be named edgarallen which literally caused me to laugh aloud, but I got competitive about it and now I just wish I had my time back. More like the book that wouldn’t ENDincredibly interesting world and magic system. so so confusing sometimes tho.
This is the best book I've read in a long time.
It's like if The Poppy War and The Shadow of the Wind had a baby, it would be this. It's so wondefully written, and the themes are a metaphor for our reality in ways I can't describe without spoiling.

I was confused, I didn't like the characters, and neither the physical nor the audiobook held my attention.
