I was reading this book with a couple of friends and I think that if it wasn't for the fact that all of us were reading it I'd have probably DNFed it at the end of Part 1. I really like the concept of the book and I do think the story had a lot of potential but feel like it needed to have more context in the beginning to grip the read, as it was all so confusing. No previous knowledge of the Hunt and how tihing were to play out made it hard to understand and get involved with the story. Somehow think I'd have enjoyed it more if it playing out in Acient Greece, but get why it was actually happening in the present, for the "lessons" the characters learn. I really wanted to enjoy this book as I love mythology but sadly it wasn't for me ..

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. There's nonstop action from the very first page until the end, but the author managed to have a decent pacing throughout. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoyed Percy Jackson and loves Greek mythology.

CW: The book does contain detailed acts of violence and gore against adults and children. Sexual assault is also mentioned, but not described in detail.

I'm sorry, I know this book is loved by many. But, I just couldn't join the Hype. I have tried twice to read this once in paperback and once through audiobook (about 3.5 hours in) and I just couldn't. The story is an amazing concept and characters complex.

I find my issue is with the style of writing unfortunately, It seemed very slow, even though a lot happens from chapter to chapter.

I do however recommend this title if you are a fan of the Author or of spins on Greek Myths.

I could not get into the story. Even the main character seemed 2-dimensional. The world building could have used a lot of work. The concept with the dead gods was.just strange, I really disliked how athena was portrayed. She seemed weak, and even though she is mortal for this small amount of time she is in no concept of the word weak. I just honestly think I can spend my time in a better book.

I don’t think this was a bad book but it wasn’t for me personally. It didn’t feel like a YA book but at the same time it did. I felt like the characters should have been older but since it is YA they were teens. And there was a lot of violence for being YA. Also, Greek gods are cruel! I wasn’t expecting that big twist either!

Lore is my hero! She kicked butt and took names. She took on so much by the end and still came out on top with more life to live. (A&P)
