Penelope is quite possibly one of the least likable characters I’ve read about in a while. She’s mean and inappropriately funny (in the wrong situations) and cares about no one but herself.
That being said, the plot of this book is also very strange. Is this a romance novel? Because if so, why is their first kiss literally half a paragraph? Penny’s feelings for Martin are never explored and I would have liked to see that.

I can’t remember the last time a book had me laughing out loud. This book was so fun. I loved Penelope’s personality and the progression of the story. If you’re a fan of rom coms, don’t pass this one up.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I got in the Amazon Prime’s first reads because the blurb sounded cute. I’m not typically a romance reader, but to me this had more of an actual story and character development with some romance thrown in rather than just being about Penelope finding love. This book had me cracking up so much that I think my husband thought I was a little nuts. It was super cute and cozy and just all good vibes. Highly recommend.

Penelope is such a relatable character. There were times I felt outraged for her with her family and ex-husband. But Penelope and her family learn, they all have to adjust their judgment and Penelope has to learn to let them in.
This was such a satisfying read. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys RomComs, Contemporary Romance, Family Dynamics and Romance old and new!! The writing is terrific, the characters so vivid and interesting, and the plot flowed smoothly and was never dull.
