first book club book! some stuff I really liked, and a lot I didn’t. I thought the book had some serious fat to trim and  the scope was way too big because there’s a much sharper and more impactful story somewhere under this extra stuff! I did really love the small townness of the book and how so many events and people overlapped one another.

A great book that told a story that really captured me. A story about how a deaf boy impacted a community, and the relationships that formed. Really enjoyed this one.

I liked it overall. I’m not sure why some plot points existed, and I wished things had been made a bit more clear. It got REALLY dark at times in ways that I didn’t think added to the storyline.
