Pleasantly surprised by how much I ended up enjoying this one! It was a really simple story, but so funny and realistic too, I think. I thought the ending was a bit cheesy but, honestly? Also wholesome and it worked well with the way the rest of the story was flowing.
I will say this synopsis is WACK and idk who approved it but wow. This is absolutely NOTHING like Daisy Jones x Almost Famous, and I say that as someone who is a mega fan of both of those works.
But it is a cute, wholesome story!

A coming of age book targeted for adults, and I loved it!
I smiled a lot reading this. I enjoyed the family dynamics of the Cone household and its contrast to the Dillard household. I liked reading about unconventional women and relationships. I loooved reading about Mary Jane’s self-actualization that she is important, brave and useful. There was nuance in this book as well when it came to marriage dynamics and gender roles, and it was just enough for me to think critically yet not cynically. Lastly, Izzy was the sweetest. I loved all the descriptions of her being a kid, her snuggles and warmth.
