Teenager POV

I liked the authors descriptive writing style. Story is POV of a teenager so pretty PG and a little boring. Ending is cute though.

A near perfect read about a baby sitting job gone wrong and then right. So much fun! More than a romp. If you liked I'm Glad My Mother Died you'll probably like this book.

This was weird. I was vibing with it to start—there was good era building, the main character was coming of age, the premise was interesting. However… there were some uncomfortable/alarming choices made for these characters. First and most importantly, the adults’ relationships with Mary Jane were inappropriate. A grown man should not be writing a song about a 14 year old. None of those characters should told Mary Jane they loved her after knowing her for a few weeks. And there should have been zero storyline about her seeing Jimmy naked… especially the toddler seeing. It just felt icky. It felt like propaganda for child grooming. It wasn’t all bad, but I do think it was overall bad. And Mary Jane’s fondness for Izzy also just feels odd. She basically becomes her mom and everyone is chill with it. Just… really weird vibes.
