Wow, what an ending. It’s hard to just talk about this book without talking about the trilogy as a whole. It was an intense and emotional experience that really took you for a ride.

Although it dragged a bit for me in the middle, the battle scenes and the unpredictability of literally everyone still kept me engaged. I just cannot get over how perfectly crafted the characters were. This ending really brought out each individual and their own separate arcs and development. The depth of each character and their relationship with Darrow was incredible! & how Darrow navigates his own growth with this new sense of maturity and self awareness with those surrounding him was both absolutely heartbreaking and achingly beautiful. 😭Honestly such a memorable and perfect cast.

This was truly an inspiring series with such a powerful and satisfying ending. I will prob ride this high for a bit before continuing the second part of this series though, because my heart can only take so much 🥲♥️

Holy shit this book gave me a heart attack. First of all, messed up for killing my boy ragnar, second I think I am owed reparations for the severe stress my body underwent with that whole Sevro stunt at the end. That shit had me going through the five stages of grief. Loved the sweet wedding scene tho, Sevro and Victra are adorable. Also the reveal of Pax???? Holy Jesus. There's no one doin it like you Pierce Brown.

I think the only reason this book doesn’t get 5 stars from me is because I’m not THRILLED that there’s a second trilogy.

Aside from that, I thought this book was a 5 star read. The character development and relationship building was phenomenal. Pierce brown does an UNREAL job of making us love the good & the bad characters. I really don’t think I’ve ever felt for a character as much as I felt for Darrow and my guy Sevro.
