I found this book ok, although I didn’t really like the ending. The main character is really unlikeable and I think that made it difficult to empathise with her throughout the body of the story.

not about anything in particular, just snippets from someone's life, but those are the best books

makes you wonder, we only have 1 life, is it more important to spend it trying to help others and never yourself, or is it more important to enjoy your own life?

It's got one star because I managed to finish it. Otherwise I didn't like much about this novel. It needed a hatchet taking to it as regards the editing. You know how you sometimes read a book where it seems the author didn't know how to finish so endedit quickly, well is the opposite. It was the longest political manifesto I've ever subjected myself to. I was bored before I was a third through and by the end I really could not have cared less about the self-centred, preachy Clio. The best thing about this book was the interesting title and the card game it referenced.

It’s been ages since I read a novel and this book made me wonder why — such an engaging and creative read, with so many voices. I really loved the exploration of how we are all made up of so many impressions on each other, how you’re a different person to the various people you come in contact with, but all of these are true impressions. Made me want to start reading novels again, and that’s the best feedback I can give it.
