Jan 21st 2023 The cast of characters grows in the most satisfying way, the deep dive into the world is all I could ask for while still leaving so much to discover. What I absolutely love about this sequel is we get to pick up with our characters, and meet some new ones; all while learning so much more about the sides of this political and physical war they're all locked in. I don't want to give any spoilers but the way this books plot does deceit and betrayals is just delicious. I'll say it again if you like House of Night series, Daughters of the Moon series; I'd even add if you liked the Matched series and Shadow Hunters series as well You WANT to read this book series!

Absolutely adore these books. The pace is enjoyable. Not too fast but not so slow that it is boring. The characters are loveable and relatable and complex. The villain is worse than Umbridge in my opinion. But it is beautifully written. And I cannot wait to see what awaits in this world

I enjoyed book 1 but this book far exceeded my expectations! I loved meeting new characters and getting more info about The Ivies and the history of the Green Lands. I'm eager to read book3.

Trouble in the Green Lands by J. Houser
Another great book!  This book continues the adventure and suspense and sometimes a character will make you think, WAIT, WHAT, BE CAREFUL, or that’s COOL, SAD, EXCITING…  Again, you won’t want to put it down.  As with the first book and this one, I love the New kind of plot that I wouldn’t have ever thought of.  This trilogy hopefully turns into a series, they would make AWESOME movies.  Super stoked for Book 3, hoping it comes out soon, I’ll be watching for pre-order.

After reading J. Houser’s book Seeder Shadow Wars, I knew I wanted to know more, see more, into the realm of the Green Lands.  J. Houser’s latest book, Trouble in Green Lands, did not disappoint.  With another lead character learning who and what she was, it figures that the war between the Seeders and Ivies has taken a turn for the worst, …but there might be hope yet.  New characters are added to the plot, new and surprising twist, new understanding of the problems, but everything remains coherent with the first book.  Who is good? Who is bad? What secrets are yet to be uncovered? The book reads fast but still develops the characters well.  Again, the book is PG 14 in my opinion: some issues very much real to our own world are touched on, but in a tasteful and delicate way.  A third book in what has developed into a Trilogy is on the way and I look forward to reading that one as well.  What rating for Trouble in Green Lands? a 5+ for sure, every bit as good as Seeder Shadow Wars, even better!

Book one is fabulous. We are introduced to the important aspects of the worlds involved and meet a collection of characters that are captivating and interesting. Book one is awesome. It's wonderful. It's essential. It sets the stage for what's to come next.
What comes next?
Well, book two of course!
We get to see more of the world and to learn about the Ivy side of things. There were so many times when I looked up from the page and thought wow - I did NOT see that coming!
It's like going down a river and book two turns into rapids... the excitement picks up and carries us along rapidly through the plot BUT not so fast that we don't get to pay full attention to the scenery.
I remain impressed by some of the narrative style choices - we change POV within a short space of time/room but its done smoothly and feels natural to me. I found this really enjoyable. I like to know everything so being able to see a situation literally from more than one person's mind made me very happy.
I feel like book one is an orange. I have the orange. I love the orange. I embrace the orange. But then book two... peels the orange and now I have all the pieces and my mind is blown and I'm left thinking - Oh, I like this so much more now!
Seriously looking forward to book three!
This is such an incredible world full of wonder and intrigue and secrets and questions and spies and assassins and mistaken identities and secret identities... and yet it's in a style that welcomes you in and gets you comfortable for the ride :)
Highly recommend to all!

"I was provided an ARC copy to read for an honest review."

J. Houser has done it again.

In this second book about the Green Lands, we get to see more of the Green Lands itself. A few characters from the first book are still present. We get to see how Saff, Devin, and Ben are doing, but we are also introduced to new characters that are in the human world - at least to begin with.

This book has even more action than the first one. The war has intensified and the Seeders need to act on it. They can no longer just let it be. We get to know more about the Seeders, but also the Ivies.

The book has so many twists and turns that it is hard to put down.

This book is truly about surviving what is thrown at you, friendship, trust, and teamwork.

I can definitely recommend this book and I can't wait to read the next one in this series.

TROUBLE IN THE GREEN LANDS (SEEDER WARS #2) is full of sci-fi action. J. Houser delivers another page-turner in her series about botanical beings and an age-old war between two cultures.
Saff, now married, tries to adjust to her routine in the Green Lands. She uses her powers of healing and grows a garden. Her life is going well, except for the ever-present war between her people, the Seeders, and the Ivies.
Rachel, a high schooler in the town where Saff lived before her bloom, begins to "bloom" and realizes that she has a decision to make that will determine the rest of her life. She has a great boyfriend, a fantastic best friend, and a good adopted family. What will she choose?
The Ivies are changing their strategies, and it could be devastating for the Seeders. One young person takes a stand, but will it be soon enough to end the war? Can anyone be trusted?
I have enjoyed the books in the series, and I look forward to the next one. This book was more involved, and I liked the insights into the daily responsibilities of the Seeders. The characters have depth, and I'm glad the author layered her characters to make them relatable, even though they weren't human.
I was given a free e-copy of the story for my review. My opinions are my own.
I recommend the book for young adults and experienced readers who enjoy coming-of-age tropes with action and fantasy/sci-fi elements.
