A delightful follow-up to Crazy Rich Asians. It's fun, funny, melodramatic, and includes some exotic locations - perfect for summer! In addition to some of my favorite characters from the first book returning in this one, we're also introduced to some new, memorable characters. I'll be jumping right into the 3rd book.

I really like this book as a sequel. I was a little nervous it was going to be a "same story, different country" kind of deal but it definitely wasn't!

Did not finish. Maybe I just don't remember it well, but I remember Crazy Rich Asians having much better pacing. China Rich Girlfriend spent way too much time languishing in descriptions of expensive things (and to some extent characters' flat reactions that mostly weren't useful for moving plot or character development). It didn't help that the audiobook narrator spoke kind of slowly, but that definitely wasn't the only reason why the book felt slow.

Held my attention, had a few twists and turns I didn't anticipate and continued some lovable characters. I'm glad I listened to the audiobook instead of reading since there is so much Cantonese/mandarin and other languages I don't speak, it really added to the story and experience to be able to hear the pronunciation and impact on the story
