I am enjoying reading through Kevin Kwan’s trilogy for crazy rich Asians but this second book kind of lost me at the end. I really enjoyed the different writing styles he had in this second book versus the first; here he had emails, news articles, diary entries, etc which was a fun way to set different scenes/stories. It was an engaging read and intriguing plot line but the main conflict came right towards the end and very rapidly got resolved. I am hoping the third book while tie back into more of the storyline from the first book in the trilogy. Overall, an interesting and engaging read though!
Minor: Death
An inconsequential npc character dies but it’s brought up a few times.
This one was meh for me, I rated it 4 stars because I still devoured it very quickly and was engaged in the story. Definitely not as dynamic as the first book. I will obviously continue reading the series though - I LOVE the drama!

The time jump between this and the first book was unexpected - we skipped the part that is usually written about, and instead went straight to the "happily ever after" with its own twists and turns. Overall I enjoyed this more than the first book, and I think its definitely good to read them back to back as I have a better opinion of the first book having read the second! Looking forward to reading the third book.
Am I the only one who had trouble getting through these books in a timely manner? It took me nearly 3 weeks to finish this one! The characters are all so interesting, but the plot moves at a snail’s pace and it’s so hard to stay with it. I wish there was less name dropping and more depth. Nonetheless I will be reading the last book in the trilogy, but I’m going to need a break. I love this series idea and the representation, just wish it wasn’t such a drag to get through / keep up with.
I would've liked if it had included more between Rachel and her dad, but regardless it was still fun and over-the-top like the first book. Also so glad Astrid finally left Michael because he was awful in the first book and managed to get even worse in this one??
