it’s a good introduction to classics for sure, but it’s not typically something i’d read. i can appreciate it for what it is and understand its importance in the literary history, but i think it was just a little bland and at times dragged on.

It was very interesting but sometimes dragged on with details. I would still recommend though!

Everything in this book is golden, red and olive green. If you know what each of these colors meant for the victorians, you already have a great synopsis for it. This is a story about an unrequited love, the corruption of a soul, the obsession for aesthetical beauty and all lives ruined in the way.
