He brushed his lips against hers. “I love you,” he breathed against her mouth. “And from today onward, I want to never be separated from you. Wherever you go, I go. Even if that means going to Hell itself, wherever you are, that’s where I want to be. Forever.”

Is it possible to be in love with someone’s mind? Because that’s how I fee about SJM. [a:Sarah J. Maas|3433047|Sarah J. Maas|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1582137198p2/3433047.jpg] knows how to write good books. I knew this and still I was surprised about the plot twists in this book.

Let me start by saying that this book should be read first. I read it after reading [b:Crown of Midnight|17167166|Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass, #2)|Sarah J. Maas|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1391580481l/17167166._SY75_.jpg|21581860] because I thought it will be boring and ruin some of the surprises and mysteries in the books to come... but boy was I wrong. This is the book you should be reading first in the series.

Every book I read in the [b:Throne of Glass|7896527|Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1)|Sarah J. Maas|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1495278054l/7896527._SY75_.jpg|11138426] series, I like Celaena more. And someone called her a *spoiled, selfish bitch* in this book, which is basically what I’ve been thinking about her throughout the books. But you know what? I might be changing my mind. Here we get to see why and how she has become the person that she is (and with reason). Now I understand and feel her pain. Every novella gives us a sneak peek of the person she was before going to Endovier and how these moments shaped her into the person we get to know in Throne of Glass.

I specifically loved that even though it was narrated in third person, we never got to see what people like Sam, Ansel or the Mute Master were thinking. It made everything more fun and alluring.

Ansel and Alias? I hope we get to see more of them in the books to come.

And Sam? Sam stole my heart. I knew what was going to happen and it still hurt like hell. A small, hopeful part of me wishes it isn't true. And when out of the blue he declared her love for her? I died a little. It was so cute.

“What more can I say?” he exploded, his whisper rough and harsh. “I’ve already told you everything—I’ve already told you that if I stay here, if I have to live with Arobynn, I’ll snap his damned neck.”

“But why? Why can’t you let it go?”

He grabbed her shoulders and shook her. “Because I love you!”

That said, I want to kill a specific someone. Fuck him. Seriously. He WILL get what’s coming to him, I just know it.

In summary, I simply loved this book and can’t understand why I put it off for so long. I promise you, if you read this book first in the series, you won’t be disappointed and no surprises or plot twists will be ruined.
