Finally got around to reading this. I read this in publication order, so third. I think I did the right thing for myself and how I like my books. But I definitely see those people who like having everything laid out liking this more as the first book.

I really loved getting to know Celaena’s past, how she has become the woman we meet in Throne of Glass and what has shaped her in her recent past.

I loved seeing the action in the different novellas, with the different settings and characters that I suspect will come back in one way or another.

Did I find it difficult to get into at first? Sure but once I got in in? Yeah, the only thing stopping me was the fact that I was scared of the ending.

Sam has everybody’s heart in his hands and its the most reasonable thing. I teared up, which I never do, but his love is absolutely pure, loyal and enveloping.

I’m excited to jump back into the main timeline and start Heir of Fire someday soon, but I will not rush as I am truly enjoying these books❤️
