This is a pretty quick read. It could have been a much better book, and honestly I only really enjoyed the parts where the leads were together.

Sara's family storyline was vaguely intriguing but Mikaela's work drama was overly long and not at all interesting. Her crazy ex was also too stereotypical for me.

The relationship building between Sara and Mikaela was going along pretty well until the end, then it's just wham!, light speed and there was no real rationale for why it happened so quickly.

The book would have been better if less time was devoted to the work drama and more to the relationship. It's probably 2.5 stars, but I give it points for having a POC as a main character, unfortunately character/relationship development is lacking.
