A fast read. An enjoyable read. I predicted a lot of the ending, more twists would gave upper this rating.

2.5/5 stars. The psychopath of a husband in this book has too much in common with my estranged husband for this to be an entertaining form of escapism for me. It is not a positive experience, so I am moving on. The rating is more of a reflection of my emotional response than a reflection of the quality of the writing. I made it to page 99 before needing to put it aside.

I'm just generally against adding random racist slurs just to show what a 'bad guy' the villain is. And no other reason, consequence or inspection on the topic.

The book started out really great but honestly I felt like it became predictable after a while. I really liked the POV switch and there was a good amount of mystery at first. But it felt kind of anti climactic.

I was hooked on the first few chapters and then found myself skimming pages as the plot just became weird and messy. Neither of the characters were likeable and it seemed very rushed. However, the plot twist was great, I didn’t see it coming but I wish it had been executed properly.

Lesson: Don’t take advantage of people. You never know if they’ll snap.
