I am starting to realize that I'll read any book that gives me a "rejected love or rejected mate" trope. I'm a glutton for pain and a sucker for grovelling. Their story was absolutely beautiful and I teared up a bit while reading. I finished this in maybe 24 hours and I don't regret the sleep I lost to do so. I'm excited to read the rest of the books in this series soon!

This was my favorite of the series so far. The FMC is perfection. She embodied what I am always hoping for when the book is said to have a strong FMC. She’s smart, she works hard, and she weighs decisions before she makes them. The tension and chemistry between the FMC and MMC was great. I really enjoyed the friends to enemies to lovers storyline.

Zoey Draven, what do you put in your books? Because I am devouring every single one and still craving more! The chemistry, the plot, the characters... All of it was absolutely amazing.

That said, I’m holding back 0.5 stars on this one. I just couldn’t fully buy the excuse for why the male lead rejected the female lead (not once, but twice!). It didn’t feel convincing enough. However, it wasn’t a dealbreaker... not even close. I still loved them as a couple because, if there’s one thing this author always delivers, it’s a good grovel. And in this book, she absolutely nailed it. I was right there alongside the male lead, practically begging the female lead to give in just a little!

Also, that red mist and the bastard son of the Dothikkar turned Vorrakar? I am so intrigued. Book 5,here I come!
