Couldn't connect to the characters. Plot felt very disconnected. Tone felt miserable.

This is Becky Chambers on top form. It's everything I originally loved about 'The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet' and then some, exploring new species, new cultures, and new galactic politics through a cosy, loveable, heartwarming lens. If anything I'd say this even outshines TLWTASAP. I'm so sad this is the end of the series 💔

A big warm hug in book form. If like me, you adored The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet and then read the other books trying to chase that high but never really achieving it... Read The Galaxy and the Ground Within. It's just as warm and soft and carries the same tenderness as TLWTASAP.

Soooooo cute
I think I don’t care when nothing happens in a book. I think my problem with other books where nothing really happens is that the background isn’t interesting and the people are annoying.
If you’re going to make me read over 300 pages of sitting around and talking, they had better be some interesting political or world drama happening or at least care about the characters these books always make me do!!
