Emily Winfield Martin's books - Dream Animals, Day Dreamers, and, this newest offering, The Wonderful Things You Will Be, are so incredibly beautiful. This newest one in particular caused tears the first time I read it (and comes close every time I've read it since). It is without a doubt one of my top new picks for baby shower gifts - as is Dream Animals, which is now available in board book format!
This is a beautiful story for children. The story teaches that kids can grow up to be anything they want, and they will still be loved. It teaches kids the ways in which everyone has their own talents and strengths, but they will carry their kindness, cleverness, and boldness with them where they go. The rhyming had my captivated, or maybe it was the beautiful illustrations. Either way, this book is a must-have for your child's book shelf. This book gave off an "Oh, The Places You'll Go" vibe, but that is the opposite of a problem.
Beautifully illustrated. A sweet, simple message. This is a must give as a gift to kids or to read for babysitting. My mom told me this was one of her favorite children's books to give, and I can see why. It is sweet and lovely.
I like this book, the rhyme is good, the values are good, the illustrations are cool. My only concern is that this kind of message can put a lot of pressure on a child to be world-changing. Other than that, a nice picture book. Still worth reading.
What a wonderful, uplifting book that inspires the imagination. The artwork is also delightful.
