This book is a classic and it's obviously well-written, but I found it difficult to stick with. It is a very slow read.

The first one hundred pages were truly interesting. The first days of Robinson's time on the island, how he cope with and it truly was an inspiration for my own program with little scout girls. But then it became really dull and not much happened. I probably wouldn't have ever read it if it wouldn't be for scout. It was interesting but definitely not for me.

Surprisingly readable for being one of the first English-language novels, if not the first. Lots of ideas on religion, self-reliance, mastery.
This book is a better DIY manual than any booklet IKEA would give you. There isn't much to can take away from this read other than how to build a camp site and how to use the grammatical first person. English teachers' favourite mantra "show, don't tell" never held true held meaning until finishing this book.
I appreciate the legacy of this novel as a pioneer in literature, hence the two stars; but if I didn't have to read it for a course at university, I probably wouldn't have finished it.
