This is the kind of picture book that inspires the reader to want to learn more about the amazing females featured, and I love that. I can also see it sparking great discussions about who you would have included if you wrote the book.

This was a quick, inspiring, and amazing read. I read it while I was helping out at my cousin's book fair and it was selling like crazy so that's great to hear. :)

The art is very well done, the selection of women to profile (with an eye to ethnic diversity and a variety of accomplishments) is good, but I think the one-page glimpses are too brief and out of context to do much to hook a small child's imagination. It might serve as a springboard to other bios, though, for a kid with an interest in one of the areas featured.

I had my son read this for a little insight on women in history. If I ever have a daughter I will definitely have her read this

I am very stingy with my 5 stars, but this one earned it. It is so simple. It tells about important women in American history. My daughter has had me read it multiple times, which is rare. She loves Sally Ride, Apgar and Maria Tallchief (I believe that's her name) and has not decided it's okay that she wants to be a police officer. The best part for me is that it isn't wordy. I would definitely recommend this book.

A wonderful book about important women in history that shows young girls (and older) why they should always persist and never give up no matter what stands in there way. It was sweet and strong. I would give it to any girl of any age.
