I see I am not the only one who finds her books formulaic. There is nothing of value here, pick up something else.
This book has everything a girl needs. An emotionally damaged female protagonist and a handsome male lead. Its about how a girl manages to pick herself up after witnessing her father's death and having to become 'perfect' to cope with it. Then a handsome dude comes along and changes things. Probably reread this about 5 times already.
Edit: reread this book in its entirety for the nth time because I’ve decided to get a tattoo of it. And I still love it. I think this is Dessen’s best work and I have read quite a few of her novels. It’s well thought out in the way she describes every action Macy takes, every moment with Wes, every time she loosens up with the Wish crew. I was like Macy back then, a little. I wished for some kind of controlled chaos and maybe I still do, a little, now. But most of all, I wished for a place to belong and I think she found it at the end just like I have.

Cute, easy read, wes is amazing, she writes good stories that are easy to get into and leave me wanting more. Granted I am 17. :)
