Love the story and the dual POV! I feel like the ending of the story was so rushed! So much happened in the last 50 pgs that I feel like could’ve been longer.
Just wow! This book has a case of mistaken identity, some really brutal heartache, and a really dark and bittersweet love. Deceptive Vows is in the same mafia world as Summer's Dark Syndicate series, and she did not disappoint with this one. I really enjoyed the twist of the mistaken identity, and I loved that Natalia and Mikhail genuinely fell in love with each other. They really got to know each other so when the truth came out, all that was left was love. Their initial meeting and interactions were really rough to read, but the attraction was still there beneath the surface. Mikhail's whole world was turned upside down in the months leading up to his taking of Natalia but when the truth comes out, he learns that Natalia's world was just as overturned and was equally as brutal. She wasn't meant to live in the mafia world, but the mafia world completely enveloped her. Mikhail really took that to heart for her and greatly considered what that meant for them. But in the end, he was her best protector and the only person she wanted. They were both so equally damaged, they were quite perfect for each other. Just like all of Faith's other mafia books, the twists and turns in the plot were so good. I really enjoy mafia romance books, and this was no different. Definitely an easy recommendation.

Honestly terrible. Even the duet narration couldn't save it. I only finished this book because I still suck at DNF-ing.
They "fall in love" after only one week of knowing each other (one week which is described in excruciating detail...) and literally only having one kind of nice conversation. The MMC changes personalities entirely in this time and become a lovesick whiny moron, that we're still supposed to believe is a ruthless mafia leader... I'm okay with insta-love, but this was just stupid. Also their first time together is her first time ever, which he knows, and he is super rough with her and pleased when she bleeds. TW for dubcon/non-con there, too, because she asks him to wait to give her a second to breathe and he says "fuck no" and just goes for it up against a wall.
After reading every. single. second. of this one week, we jump forward 3 weeks to their wedding, and then another 2 weeks, and then we get the most fucking cartoonish villain monologue ever. The traitor iseveryone you think it is -the brother, the aunt, and the butler- and they all get a fucking monologue . And then there's ten more pages of the most ridiculous miracle save, miracle antidote, miracle technology HEA.
There are also some almost minor continuity errors - at some point during the world's longest week, he says they're getting married "next week", but the plan was for them to get married in a month, which is what happens. He also has a Russian accent but mentions at some point that he learned Russian for his father. He wouldn't have a Russian accent if it wasn't his native tongue.
And bless their hearts, the narrators did their best on the accents/languages, but it wasn't an awesome job. Gregory Salinas regularly slips back into an American accent when speaking, and Sarah Puckett's character is supposed to be bilingual (English and Spanish) but the couple of times she says anything in Spanish the accent is all wrong.

I love it. 5 stars for me
This is deliciously dark romance that will have you wanting to hate Mikhail and hope Natalia can escape the fate that was never meant for her. As their story unfolds you soon realize that nothing is as it seems. When you realize what motivates each of them to behave the way they need to survive will make you see Mikhail especially is a new light. You can't help but get swept up in their pasts and the feelings they try hard to repress. It is passionate, dangerous, non stop intrigue that I just couldn't put down! I really love the characters in this world! I received this ARC from Bad Boy Updates.
Okay
This was a very slow read and just couldnt get in to the story. I scan over alot of pages. It started to get good at about eighty percent. This his is not a drk read like it said it would be.
