This series is really in depth. There is so much story here, but it can be a bit confusing at times. I'm really interested to see how it wraps up.

East of West continues to be consistent in its quality. Until the last issue of this trade which might be my favorite issue I’ve read so far. And led me to buying the next two volumes immediately after.

Death is getting closer to his son and the four horseman are also at work destabilizing things. While the world leaders continue to evade on another.

It’s very intricate and well plotted with interesting things going on in each subplot. Building up to the end of this volume which is quite the start of something.

A consistent 4 stars.

"whether it amounts to anything more than just more comic book stuff remains to be seen" I said after reading the first volume.

Question answered: it's just more comic book stuff. Which is fine, but it's only that.

East of West spread

I am shocked that this series has such high ratings. I gave it a good college try and I guess I just don’t get it? There are some plot lines I like better than others, but a lot of it is just philosophical with no substance. I liked the twist at the end of this volume but not enough to read the next one.

Re-read: February 9, 2016

After giving this one a re-read, right after re-reading volumes 1 & 2, I'm going to raise this up to a 4 star because it really is so great. The complexity, as with the first 2 volumes, can be a bit confusing at times, but after reading it again, it's all just so well crafted and excellent that I have to give it a higher rating.

Now I can't wait to read vol. 4 because that is one I haven't gotten around to yet!

This one was a bit more confusing and felt like filler for the next volume. It was still really good, but I need to re-read vol. 2 and this one before reading vol. 4 in order to get a grasp of everything that's happening.

What I love about this series is how many story lines there are. But that also means it can be hard to follow everything. It's worth the effort though. And I'm excited to see what happens next!
