I was gifted this book by my lovely friend Valerie Brummitt, who felt so strongly about this book she needed me to read it. This book is full of tragedy. Mia Monroe has known nothing but severe heart wrenching abuse. Which causes her to fall into a the horrific abuse cycle. When you are introduced to Mia you find that she is finally free from her abusive father, only to fall prey to an abusive boyfriend, the first she's ever had.
She eventually finds a hidden strength and runs. Flees to Colorado looking for the mother that abandoned her to the heartless hands of her father. What she wasn't expecting was Jordan.
Jordan shows her that all men are not hurtful. She allows herself to open up little by little. And falls head over heels in love with him.
Jordan has his own baggage. He is a user. An honest user at that. But a user all the same. He doesn't desire affection or relationships. Only sex.
The story unfolds as Mia and Jordan let go of their pasts and find hope in one another.

I loved Jordan and Mia! Their romance was done well, except the sexual scenes. I'm all for the bad boy Jordan finding love, but the sex crazed Mia was a bit much. Other than that, good book!

I love this author. After reading the mighty storm I thought I would give this one a go. What can I say? Emotional rollarcoster, author deals with some very sensitive subjects abusive and an eating disorder, and I think she did an out standing job. Read the book in one sitting, it was that good.

Wow! That's really all I can come up with is wow! This book is not a super happy everythings wonderful kind of read. This book is rough, it's gritty, and is a rip your heart out and shred it to pieces before slowly piecing it back together story. But it's an amazing story of love and conquering a past that is dark and damaging and coming through ok because you've found someone to help you through it all.

Trouble has massive triggers and hits some really difficult subjects.

Mia goes from one abuser to another and struggles to get out of the environment she's in until she's finally pushed too far and sets out to look for her mother who signed her over to her father so many years ago. Along her way she meets Jordan, the playboy who doesn't see himself settling down and has had one too many run in's with trouble.

Mia stumbles into Jordan's hotel and suddenly has to get used to this new way of life. She's determined to find her mother and Jordan's determined to help, along with a four-legged friend. Jordan tries to help Mia heal but Jordan can only help so much until Mia needs to try and help herself.

There's steam, action, and drama but I needed more of an issue with Mia finding her mother. It seemed to be a letdown what the end result was, especially with Mia having no relatives to discuss it with. When Mia was going through some difficult times in the end I really struggled to find how she was carrying out her problem realistic - probably because it was never mentioned at the start. However, I still enjoyed it as an easy read.

Trouble a better read than I expected. The author took this character that most would have written in a way that annoyed me, but made me love. Mia could have been not so good, but instead I just wanted all the best for her. A sweet read that I really loved.

Mia has not had the best life. Her father is horrible and when the book opens she thinks she is finally free. Finally she does not have to live the nightmare that she has been, only almost instantly she finds herself in a similar situation. She was a hard one to fit into a box. She knows she shouldn't stay where she is, but she doesn't really know anything different. She thinks it will just happen again and again so kind of like what is the point? When something finally happens that pushes her too far she runs. She runs to try and figure everything out, what to do with her life, and ends up trying to find her mom who left her as a child.

When Mia shows up in a town halfway across the country she gets directed to a small hotel up in the mountains where Jordan works. Right off the bat she is attracted to Jordan, but also weary of him. He is a big, tough, strong, tattooed guy who obviously could hurt her if she lets him. She wants to trust, but is scared to.

For his part Jordan was amazing with Mia. He has his issues, he doesn't do relationships and just hooks up with girls and stuff, but he is such a sweetheart underneath all that. He likes Mia, but something is going on with her and he wants to figure out what. He was so wonderful, just there for her when she needs someone. He tries not to push her, to make sure she isn't afraid of him, and to let her know he would never hurt her. Not like whoever did in her past. He was wonderful.

Through the story Mia tries to keep everything together and figure out where her mom is. Jordan is right there for her ever step of the way. Sometimes it is a bit overwhelming, but he is by her side no matter what in whatever way she will let him. For the first time in his life he wants to try. He wants to be perfect for someone else. He will do whatever he can to protect Mia. Only outside circumstances enter and things get a bit dicey. Oh, I hurt for both of these characters. It was so heartbreaking and I just wanted all the best for the both of them. Mia has some other issues she has to deal with as well so when everything blows up around her it is not very good. Thankfully these two just have that connection that they can't really break. They just need time to figure everything out and be in a place where they can see where this will all go. Such a great read. I love seeing broken people find what they need and learn that they are stronger than they ever thought. I love that Mia has a bunch of issues to overcome, some that I rarely see in books I read. It was a really great story and I can't wait to read more by this author.

It’s exactly what you expect. An angsty storyline with twists and trauma worthy of a soap opera. If these kind of stories are your guilty pleasure, then you will enjoy this. Good writing and editing. Characters a bit cliched and sometimes fell flat but overall not bad!
