this is defo my least favourite freida mcfadden book so far, unfortunately everything was quite predictable. there was really only a very limited number of outcomes and even when we get to the big reveal of who actually dunit it kind of just felt like freida was spewing out whatever plausible nonsense that could happen - kinda felt like someone just going “oh and then! and then this happened! and then this!” It just kept going and got so much more unbelievable every time

i got to the twist and was kind of just like ok ?🤷‍♂️ I almost grew more and more disappointed as the “twist” kept going and going and going until I was left considerably disappointed which is unlike her usual writing

even prior to the “twist” the build up was just boring in general, I didn’t find myself invested in the characters at all, overall an unfortunate blip in her otherwise stellar works
