It’s not often that I think a sequel is even better than the first book, but this one definitely is! It was such a thrill to see Osman really settle into the characters (all of whom I’d gladly hang out with and it feels unfair that I can’t) and develop a fresh mystery full of twists and turns that are unexpected yet accessible to follow. I laughed out loud multiple times, though I did feel a spot of grief for
Poppy’s death; it’s also unfair that she wasn’t doing something she loved when she died
. I can’t wait to read the third one.

This series is perfect for true crime lovers who need something a bit softer. You will fall in love with the characters and be trying to solve the mystery right along with them. The story is told from a variety of perspectives and it is engaging and entertaining.

A beautiful blend of intriguing mystery, humour and heart. I never felt that one aspect was sacrificed for another - it is superbly well-balanced. I fell in love with the characters in the first book and I fell in love with them all over again in this one. I can’t recommend this series enough and I can’t wait to see what trouble the Thursday Murder Club gets into next.

It was a fun read, I enjoyed it slightly less than the first one but I plan to continue reading the series.
