A yummy collection of short essays ranging from a brief history of apples to food eating experiences, such as hot chicken in Tennessee.
wmhenrymorris's review against another edition
As with most anthologies, some of the entries are great (and some are quite funny). But some are lame and some are annoying.
However, on the whole the good outweighs the bad and some of the descriptions of meals are fantastic. And some of the writing linking food to family, to memory, to childhood, to pleasure is exquisite.
