Telling the story of three women whose lives become intertwined during a summer at Yosemite National Park, McKenzie is able to grab the readers attention from the very first page. Feeling as though you are right in the middle of Yosemite as the characters go through the summer and secrets from the past threaten to emerge. I personally liked how McKenzie utilized three different modes of writing (the actual text itself as well as diary entries and social media posts) to capture the development of Cassie, Petal, and Jada during the course of the book as I feel it gives some more detailed insight on the backgrounds and character motivations that can give some explanation for their actions in the book.
Additionally, while I wasn't expecting that kind of twist near the end of the book, I could see how it made sense and proves McKenzie's strategic use of red herrings. I honestly didn't know where this book was going to end up and I had some suspicions on what was ultimately going to happen in the end (which I won't reveal because of spoilers), but I felt that McKenzie's surprise twist at the end works well for this book.
That being said, if you're looking for a thriller this fall with atmospheric settings or you're looking for a book similar to All Good People Here, you might enjoy reading Have You Seen Her.

Cassie has left her life—and her husband—in New York City to return to her hometown of Mammoth Lake, California. After ten years, she is rejoining the Search and Rescue team at Yosemite. Cassie becomes friendly with her fellow SAR workers and some of the young adventurers who have made Yosemite their home for the summer. At Yosemite, Cassie meets Petal, a young woman who recently moved to the area with her much older girlfriend, and Jada, who is on a cross-country road trip with her boyfriend. As the three women cross paths, dark secrets are revealed and their pasts catch up with them.
From the very first page, I was completely hooked. This book was packed full of secrets and surprises I never saw coming. Having previously climbed a couple of Colorado 14-ers, I was obsessed with the setting at Yosemite and McKenzie's descriptions of the park. This story is told from two different timelines from Cassie's point of view: then, when she first arrives in Yosemite in May, and now. It also includes Petal's diary entries, Jada's Instagram posts, news articles, and YouTube transcripts. I loved this format and thought it was a unique way to really get into the heads of each of the three women. This was a slow burn until the end, when things really heated up and became fast-paced. The twist at the end was completely unexpected. I highly recommend this book!

She reunites with a couple people she knew a decade ago, as well as a couple traveling the country in their airstream and a couple living nearby in a trailer. Both couples appear to have less than healthy relationships and often run into Cassie in the area.
The story is told through several methods; there is a then and now timeline for Cassie (“then” starting around May and “now” being about August) as well as interspersed journal entries by Petal. There are a couple references/flashbacks to the incident that occurred a decade prior that caused Cassie to leave Yosemite/search and rescue.
It’s definitely a captivating story, but it took a few for me to get into it and I thought it wrapped up a little quickly at the end. The pacing was more slow in the beginning, kind of medium paced in the middle, and pretty quick at the end. It also doesn’t not wrap up perfectly in a bow so just don’t go into it expecting that sort of ending. It’s mostly wrapped up but a few things are (intentionally) left to the imagination at the end.
I saw another review reference this, but Jada and Jim gave me Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie vibes. I think because of the traveling the country in the airstream while blogging and the media attention they receive.
